Our snowfall from the last five storms

I have had some questions about how much snow we have gotten this season. Here are some pictures to help you see.

Some have been wondering about how much snow we have received. Well, when I add it all up, it turns out to be... a LOT.

We have had five snowstorms and not enough warmth to get rid of it. Usually within a few days all our snow is gone. This time we still have most of the snow from the first storm which hit during Christmas week. This past weekend we received another foot.

I will have to take some "without snow" shots of these same areas once the snow finally melts to show you the contrast. But you should get the idea that we have had a lot of snow :)

Look at the birdbath :) It is a piece of art now. The swing is not very usable at the moment.

You can see the drift height under the tramp. The purple thing in the snow is the "up" side of a teeter-totter. I have already shoveled the equivalent of two feet of snow off the trampoline.

Our swings really do not touch the ground. Honest.

The view off the stairs from our deck. Only half of the fence is visible.

Our New Years puzzle is finished

Our New Years puzzle is finished

Our New Years tradition as a family is to put together puzzles. Karen found a challenging one of buttons with 1500 irregular sized pieces. It was a lot of fun to do but took until today (January 15th) to get it done.

Project Omega Tutorials

Last night before going to bed, I walked through the following tutorial: http://www.projectomega.org/article.php?lg=en&php=tuts_cocoa2&p=1

It shows the connection of outlets and actions within a NIB.

I realized that this is where we bring together the two worlds of code and UI. By control-dragging between the controller(s) and UI elements, we are tying them together. The code sends messages to textZone, which I had mistakenly tied to the edit box by the slider instead of the text field blow the button. Light bulb. My code doesn't change but I can change which UI element gets altered by changing the connections.

I love learning... this.
